在第十一章讲述临终关怀章节中，索甲仁波切用词诚恳，用情至深，传授他的施受法，教人们如何从一个临终者的角度去看待问题，去感同身受，去帮助临终者接受死亡。整本书看完后，以前在文字形式上凭个人的理解和想象的一些抽象轮廓形成了比较清晰的一个点。

谈到写此书的目的时作者说，我希望每个人既不怕死，也不怕活;我希望每个人死得安详，死亡时能够得到最有智慧、最清明和最温柔的关怀;我希望每个人透过心性和实用的了解，找到终极的快乐。?
