这本书上世纪在中国是禁书。这是一个反乌托邦的政治童话预言故事，作者奥威尔自己是共产主义者，但他用这个寓言(1949年完成)揭露了苏联在斯大林的统治下把民主共产主义弄成了专制共产主义的丑陋现象，并预言了这种专制共产主义的发展与结局。

故事大致是这样的:农场里的老少校(一只猪)在临死前召集所有的动物，把他的思想告诉动物们，他对动物们说动物不应该受人类的剥削与奴役，他呼吁动物们起来起义，建立一个没有压榨、所有动物平等的理想社会。在老少校死后不久，动物们在雪球和拿破仑(两只特别聪明的猪)的领导下发动了起义，成功把农场主琼斯赶出农场，并总结了老少校的思想，形成动物主义，建立了暂时的民主政权。后来领导者之间发生歧义，拿破仑应用武力把雪球驱逐出农场，随后民主变成专制，又回到了原来的样子，其他动物们继续受到压榨与奴役，最终猪变成了人。

看完这本书我最想谈的就是民主与平等。

书中一开始的动物主义里有一条说:所有动物都是平等的。但是到了最后，这句话的后面被加了一句:但有的动物比其他动物更加平等。

曾经看过一句话，大概意思是这样的:所谓的民主是要建立在大家的知识水平在同一成次上时才能实现的。然而在本书中除了猪和少数几只动物外，其他动物基本都是文盲，他们甚至连发生过的事都记不得，不仅是文盲，还特别蠢。当然，雪球这只猪是很有理想的，他很重视教育，也建立过识字班和读书社，可惜这些动物不争气，连字母都记不住。于是，要想民主是根本不可能的，如果领导者中没有正义的人站出来平衡，一旦有点野心的人就会很快建立起专制统治。故事也确实按这样发展下去了，拿破仑为了实现独裁，在一次争辩中靠武力手顿把雪球驱逐出境，慢慢实现专政。

为什么要说知识成次差不多呢？你想想啊，对于一群没有文化甚至连思考都不会的傻子来说，他们可能连民主和平等的概念都不知道，被剥削那是必然的，被卖了还要帮你数钱，就像书中的另一个重要角色拳击手(一匹马)，很老实，很努力的工作，但最后在失去利用价值时被拿破仑卖给了屠夫...要是大家的认知水平差不多，一旦有点不公平被提出，肯定就会有人出来反对、理论，大家都反对，领导者没有民心，就只好放弃。被这么多双眼睛盯着你的行举，专制是无法建立的，就像君主立宪。

可是上天总与福贵开着玩笑，儿子，女儿，妻子，女婿相继的离他而去。这是福贵的报应吗?这时的福贵活着又为了什么?我百思不得其解。

余华书中写道：人是为活着本身而活着的，而不是为了活着以外的任何事物而活着。

福贵只剩孤零零的一个人，但他坚持活着。我慢慢地读懂了，他在经过了人生百态后，学会了坚持，学会了忍受，为了活着而活着。

上天给予我们生命，同时给予我们苦难与幸福。但，不管怎样，生命仅仅只是存在的形式，苦难与幸福只是其中的小插曲，为了自己而活着，忍受生命赋予人们的责任。
