最近，我读了一本名著《老人与海》，这本著作是美国的海明威写的，曾获得普利策和诺贝尔奖。

这本著作，主要写了，一个老渔夫在八十四天没有捕捉大鱼的情况下，终于捕捉到了一条大马林鱼，并费尽九牛二虎之力，把它杀死。但在归航中一再遭受鲨鱼的袭击，最后回到港岸时，只剩下鱼的骨骼了。

读完后，我从中发现了老渔夫身上那种勇于面对困难、逆境、暴力和死亡，永不言败、毫不气馁，保持人的尊严和骨气的“硬汉”形象，以及“人可以被消灭，但不能被打败”，这一种崇高伟大的精神。

当我读到“这是他的习惯，多年来他常梦见童年所看到的非洲，漫长的金黄色的沙滩，白的刺眼的海水，高耸的海峡，褐色的高山，海上崛起的白茫茫的岛顶，还听到海潮的怒号”时，我看出了老人对大海深深的爱，还体现了人与自然水乳交融的和谐关系。当我读到“我要让它知道什么是一个人能够办到的，什么是一个人忍受得住的”，我看出了老人坦荡磊落和不达目的誓不罢休的个性。当我读到“老人的右手勒出了血，他把手浸在水里，说到：‘不坏。痛苦对一个男孩子不算一回事’”时，我看出了老人的勇敢顽强的个性。当我读到“他说：‘一个人并不是生来就要给打败的，你可以尽可以把他消灭掉，可就是打不败他。’”我看出了老人永不言败、毫不气馁，保持人的尊严和骨气的精神。当我读到“第二天，许多渔夫围在床周围，望着死鱼的骨骼，一个人用绳子量了量说：‘从鼻子到尾巴足有18英寸长。’”我看出了马林鱼非常巨大，老人克服的困难非常大，也看出了老人勇敢无畏的“硬汉”精神。当我读到“在茅棚里，老人又睡着了，男孩坐在一旁守着他，老人正梦见狮子。”我感受到了老人在极度的疲惫之后并没有失去斗争的勇气，仍满怀信心。

老人那永不言败、毫不气馁的精神，使我深深的折服了，但我也由衷地想起了自己没有勇气去面对失败，因为害怕不敢追求成功的一件事。

那天，我突发奇想，做了个实验--高空抛蛋。但做了好几次，鸡蛋都是碎了，实验失败了，我非常失望，便再也不敢做这个实验了。

读了《老人与海》，让我懂得了：人要有勇气面对失败，失败可以毁灭一个人，也可以创造一个人。如果因为害怕失败而不敢勇于追求成功，那就是弱者。而要做一个强者，就应当向老渔夫那样永不言败、毫不气馁，保持人的尊严和骨气。

失败并不可怕，最重要的是在失败之后重新站起来，积极去面对，去寻找失败的原因并改正。
